GE Capital Services Limited – Pillar 3 Disclosure
The Basel II accord seeks to provide safety and stability throughout the financial system by ensuring that financial institutions hold sufficient levels of capital to cover the risks inherent in their business model.
This is achieved through a framework of three 'pillars'. Pillars 1 and 2 set out the minimum required capital and the process for supervisory review by financial regulators. Pillar 3 requires financial institutions to disclose information about their risk and capital management frameworks.
